The Bohemian Gallery is a modern and contemporary art network of gallery locations comprising Los Angeles, CA, Overland Park, KS, and Montevideo, Uruguay. The gallery's mission is to represent, exhibit, and promote "Art of the Americas." We establish a dialogue and cultural exchanges up and down the Western hemisphere, and for that reason, intentionally side-step Europe and Asia to focus on artists either born in, or living in, the Americas.
The gallery is committed to advanced contemporary art, and we have a true love of paintings, drawings, and sculptures that are edgy but beautiful in some way -- not beauty as is it conventionally understood -- but beauty in all its forms, dark to light.
We tend toward artists who have professional educations and exhibition histories. In that regard, we not only show emerging contemporary artists but mid-career masters, as well.
In the spirit of our mission, we curate shows that compare, contrast, and inter-relate the visions and projects of advanced visual artists from North America, Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Our international affiliations, which allow for pop-up spaces, museum shows, and exhibitions co-curated with other well known galleries, are too numerous to list here; suffice to say, the Bohemian Gallery is neither bounded by borders, visions, nor gallery walls. We dynamically demonstrate “Art of the Americas” to the world from our chosen, and we hope engaging, North-South perspective.
While the main thrust of The Bohemian Gallery’s mission is emerging and mid-career contemporary “Art of the Americas,” the gallery holds a collection of classic modern art and post-War contemporary masters, certain selections from which are available for acquisition. Works not for sale are variously used by our curators for exhibition projects. Inquiries are always welcomed through our “Contacts” links.
You will find listed on our Home Page paintings, drawings and fine prints by classic modern masters such as Pablo Picasso, as well as contemporary offerings by post-War masters such as Warhol. In the event that an international certificate of authenticity is customarily required to authenticate a work of art -- such as a Marc Chagall and its Comité Chagall certificate -- then these will be in the gallery’s possession and transferrable to our buyers at the time a master acquisition is paid in full. In other cases, authoritative gallery certificates of authenticity will be provided.
The Bohemian Gallery discourages master-acquisition inquiries by parties other than collectors or their immediate art agents or interior designers.
The Bohemian Gallery is now located at 1807 West 45th Street, Kansas City, MO
